STAYING SAFE
When a predator chases an animal, the prey doesnât just roll over and die. It fights back! At the same time, predators donât want to get hurt while fighting another animal. Many predators are also prey. They can be eaten by even bigger predators!
Both predators and prey work to stay safe. Sometimes, they stay safe by choosing when to be active, day or night. They also carefully choose where to make their homes. Many prey animals have developed extra defenses. The trouble is, there always seems to be a predator with a way around those defenses.
